Jacksonville Beach - We heard yesterday that a few folks at the pier and few in the surf were landing some good size pompano. My neighbor and fishing buddy Emily, stopped by Rick's Bait and Tackle to pick up some live shrimp, and met me down on the beach about 7:30 AM. I brought a few fresh finger mullet that I neeted the day before. Emily hooked up some shrimp, and I tossed out some cut mullet. Things started kind of slow, with no bites for a while, until Emily landed a very cool and strange looking guitar fish, which is a kind of ray, sort of shaped like a guitar. We tossed the guitar fish back and a few mitures later Emily lnaded the beautiful Pompano pictured above. We both fished with shrimp for the next couple of hours, but had no more bites. We called it a day about 10:30, and headed back home. We ate the pompano for lunch!
